Travel Blog: First Stop Sydney, Australia
This summer I visited Sydney Australia. I arrived by plane, after a very long flight so I was
very tired and exhausted. In the airport I suddenly remembered that I
had to change my money to Australian dollars. Then it was time to
move on to the hotel, so I took a cab. The taxi driver was a really
friendly woman, that told me a lot about Sydney’s history. On the
way I also saw the fantastic green landscape and the magnificent
buildings. At the hotel I read in the news about the famous Opera House, so I decided to visit it. When the taxi stopped outside the
Opera Sydney House, my first impression was that I now understood why
many people are visiting this attraction. Afterwards, I walked over the famous Harbour Brigde and while I saw the beautiful city. I
really liked Sydney, because people were so friendly there.

When
I had been in the city for a little while, I went to Bondi Beach, or like
some people call it, "Bondi"
or "Boondi". It was the most beautiful beach I
had ever seen. Bondi Beach is one of the most famous beaches in the
world. The beach attracts many tourists throughout the year and the
beach is about 1 kilometer long. I also saw that they were sat up
yellow and red flags for the swimming areas, which are moved
according to surf conditions. On the beach they have many lifeguards,
almost only men. I would like to see more women becoming lifeguards.
I have also heard and read in the news that they celebrate Christmas
on Bondi Beach. Then they party all night long and people are
dressing up with Santa hats. I think that to be a part of that will just be a dream, because I can not afford it now as a student.
